Vision

The Saint John & District Church Men’s Slow-pitch League is a place for Christian fellowship and ministry opportunities in a safe environment with competitive teams, providing both affordable fun and physical exercise.

Methods of Achievement

Christian Fellowship and ministry

• no player restrictions (ie. talent)
• open to all Christian denominations
• no smoking on the field or in the dugouts
• no tolerance for foul language

Safe Environment
• safety base
• commitment line & safe line
• no steel cleats
• age limit of 18
• ASA bat regulation (new this season)

Competitive
• 7 runs max for innings 1 through 5
• playoff format of top 8 teams only (2005)
• minimum of 8 players to play a legal game
• mat used for equality of strike zone (new this season)
• +2 homerun rule (new this season) – this only applies to balls hit over the fence and not touched by any player

Affordable Fun
• no required uniform
• no minimum equipment requirements
• no maximum on players per team
• umpires from the league
• two umpire system

Where do we play?
Shamrock Park. in the Saint John's North End, is generally used for our Friday night games. Monday games are usually at the Allison Grounds on the East side - but is undergoing renovations for the 2007 season. Rainout and playoff games in 2007 will be scheduled at Meenan's Cove and Walter Jewett fields in Quispamsis; River Valley Middle School field in Grand Bay; and Memorial Park on the west side.
